
Abdullah Mohd Nawi is a lecturer in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), where he teaches a variety of English proficiency courses, as well as specialised teaching courses for the TESL (Teaching of English as a Second Language) program under the UTM Faculty of Education. He has more 10 years of teaching experience under his belt, teaching English in the UK, Malaysia and New Zealand to all levels of students in primary to tertiary education, as well training corporate clients in English for Specific Purposes (ESP). Abdullah’s forte is in public speaking, where he has gained accolades for debating and public speaking up to the National level, and has completed a full term (2009/10) as the first Vice-President of Education of the UTM Toastmasters Club. He is also the founder and coordinator of the Johor Language Professionals.
Abdullah is currently on study leave, where he is working for his PhD (Education) at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand. To further develop his knowledge-base and network, he is also currently a full-time English language instructor at Turning Point Education, Christchurch, NZ (http://www.turningpoint.ac.nz).
